Favorite Toys Tuesday wants to highlight a classic card game-UNO! Played traditionally, it develops fine motor skills, executive function, color/shape, and number recognition, and how to be a good loser and winner. Want to up the game? It can be combined with the Zones of Regulation. When the kids lay down a colored card they can either name or act out an emotion or coping strategy; for wild cards, they can recall a time they were in a certain zone. All the kids love this game with a twist to promote emotional strength!
PS: If you want to learn more about the Zones of Regulation, please ask your OT!
