Favorite Toys Tuesday has been dying to share our love for this pretend play toy, Melissa and Doug’s Roll, Wrap, & Slice Sushi Counter! Pretend play (aka imaginative play) starts to develop around age two and continues throughout the rest of our lives. It develops many facets of a child’s development, including but not limited to creativity, self-confidence, language skills, gross and fine motor skills, cognitive development, symbolic thought, and social engagement. This set is well constructed, beautiful to look at, and will allow family members of all ages to engage. It sets the stage to talk about nutrition and healthy eating, food from other cultures, and the young entrepreneur will enjoy running his or her own restaurant!
