Soapy Sea Foam

Graphic titled Beach Time featuring an activity called Soapy Sea Foam Sensory Play. A child's hand is shown playing in fluffy, bright blue-green foam. The background includes beach-themed illustrations of sunglasses, flowers, a starfish, and a crab with the Good Beginnings logo.
Create your own ocean-themed sensory table right at home with just a few household ingredients: water, dish soap, cornstarch, and a few drops of food coloring! Suddenly, you have a mini ocean ready for exploration.

Hide sea creatures, toy cars, or any favorite treasures to spark your child’s curiosity. Add tongs, grabbers, or scoops for an extra challenge and to strengthen fine motor skills.

Sensory play is a wonderful way to encourage:

Beach Volleyball: Kid Style!

Grab a beach towel and a blown-up beach ball for a fun twist on volleyball that everyone can enjoy! Pair up siblings, friends, or a parent and child, then work together to launch the ball into the air and catch it using only the towel.

This simple game builds so many important skills:
🏖️ Teamwork and communication as partners plan when to lift and lower the towel
💪 Motor planning and coordination to time each throw and catch
👀 Visual tracking as children watch the ball move through the air
😀 Social skills and cooperation while working toward a shared goal

No sand required- just a towel, a ball, and lots of laughter! 🌞

All aboard for imaginative play! 🚢

Graphic with the text "Ahoy Sailors!" in yellow. The center photo shows a young boy practicing fine motor skills by using purple tongs to pick up small, colorful plastic bears and place them into a homemade boat. The boat is crafted from a clear plastic tub, a striped straw mast, and a red paper sail. The dark blue background features the Good Beginnings logo at the top left and illustrated ocean waves with a small sailboat at the bottom.

Gather your child’s favorite cars, animals, or small toys and invite them to board a homemade boat. Simply use a bowl for the boat, a straw for the mast, and a paper flag to complete your creation.

Then let your child’s imagination take the lead as they sail off on their own adventure! This simple activity encourages creativity, storytelling, and fine motor skills ⚓🚗🌊

Family game night idea! ⚓

Graphic with the text "Ahoy Sailors!" in yellow script at the top. The central photo shows a group of excited young children running and jumping together outdoors on a grassy field, capturing the active nature of the game. Below the photo, a blue banner reads "SHIPS AND SAILORS FAMILY GAME FUN". The dark blue background is completed with the Good Beginnings logo at the top left, and illustrated ocean waves with a small sailboat at the bottom right.
“Ships and Sailors” is a fast-paced, movement-based game the whole family can enjoy together.
It’s a great way to support body awareness, coordination, and listening skills…all while getting everyone up, moving, and laughing together. Even better, it requires no equipment at all, so you can play it anywhere, anytime.
